Projects

We are adding some pictures of projects we have undertaken, locally, here. If you want further details of these, or suggestions for projects of your own, please contact us at thelightworks@btconnect.com We will do our best to give you some ideas and answer any technical questions. If you want ideas for lighting in a particular room or area, please give us details of room size, shape, your tastes, effects you are looking for, etc. - in fact as much info as you can.

The first project was lighting for a long, narrow bathroom. We fitted a row of 4 halogen downlighters (http://www.thelightworks.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=64_63&products_id=571) in brushed chrome down the centre operated by a pull cord dimmer switch (http://www.thelightworks.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=68_52&products_id=452). Around the edges we fitted 16 blue led lights (http://www.thelightworks.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=68_52&products_id=452) operated from a second pull cord switch in chrome (not a dimmer). Some more similar led lights were also fitted in the bath panel, not visble on the pictures. The effect was quite stunning. The led lights take very little power, and are quite sufficient for ambient lighting, e.g. for getting up during the night. For bright light, e.g. for shaving, make-up, etc. the halogen lights are put on full; but the best effects are obtained by dimming them down to half to one-third brightness, with the surrounding led lights on. This gives a very relaxing light for a bath, and a few lighted candles add to the ambience.

These photos were taken at various times of the day and night, with the dimmer on different settings.
